Emick Romer George III sterling silver epergne. Having a pierced silver neoclassical design with a motif of laurel swags. With hanging baskets and acanthus leaf form branching arms. Interior of each basket is engraved with a heraldic dog. Design includes medallions decorated with urn motifs, laurel leaf swags, and pierced shell form feet. Hallmarked London 1777-78. Romer is considered among the most talented maker of sterling epergnes in eighteenth century England.
